templars are people too

templars are people too

  1. templars are people too

templars are people too

And can we all agree that non-mages in Thedas are people too?  And that they deserve to live in peace too?  And until the Price of Magic in Thedas no longer means that every single mage alive could possibly become an abomination, there has to be some sort of organized effort to protect non-mages, and also help mages control their own powers.  Even when they don’t become abominations, who else is going to protect people from mages when *they* are the ones who are evil, and corrupt, or even just confused and unable to control their magic?

Until there is an alternative, or Thedas is cut off from the Fade completely, there needs to be a counter balance to mages, in some shape or form, that will protect those who are simply trying to live and prosper without magic.

you have to admit thought it’s still pretty dang oppressive what they do to the mages? like there are probably better ways than just locking them up in a tower??? i understand what templars are for and i do not hate them for it one bit, but. they all seem to hold a huge amount of prejudice regardless and that’s not exactly fair.

i agree a system is necessary. i mean my warden is the fucking poster child for what could go wrong when not so great people have access to magic, but  the system that’s been in place is really not okay. treating all mages like criminals is not the way to help keep order in thedas.

most mages turn to blood magic out of desperation, for freedom. if the system drives them to that then it’s a pretty shitty fucking system. and it’s important to recognize that as well.

neither templars nor mages are inherently the bad guys. but the system really needed to change.

#id be more elequent but i gotta go to class #but basically if youre talking like all mages are horrible people who deserve what they've been through we cant be friends #templars are great in theory but in practice it's just really fucking bad what they end up doing okay??? #dragon age
